Accessibility
This website is built so it can be used with a keyboard, with a screen reader, and with animation turned off. Here is what that means in practice, and what to do if something gets in your way.
What is in place
- Every part of the site can be reached and used with a keyboard.
- There is a visible outline on whatever you have focused, so you never lose your place.
- A skip link jumps straight to the content.
- Every photograph has a description written for it, saying what is actually in the frame.
- Text has been measured against its background. All of it meets the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast minimum.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the hero video does not load and the fade-in animations are turned off.
- The questions and the gallery work without JavaScript, and the layout holds together at phone, tablet and desktop sizes.
- Headings run in order, with one main heading per page, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
Where we fall short
We test with a keyboard and with automated checks, but we have not yet had the site audited by someone who uses assistive technology every day. If you hit a barrier, that is a fault worth knowing about.
